Well, hello! Remember me?
I know, I know...it's been ages. Apologies. But now there's some new content (finally).
The latest article is...Ta Dah! - "7 Perfect Day Trips from Athens".
Too many travelers treat Athens and it's environs as a necessary evil - an inconvenient hiccup in their ultimate goal of getting to an island somewhere.
This makes me crazy.
Athens is a bit nuts, I'll admit, but is there a more vibrant, historical, fascinating city in the world? Maybe, but I haven't found it.
So I'm all in favor of spending part of any trip to Greece in the city. But also OUT of the city, as the new article recommends.
All the trips suggested are less than about 2.5 hours away from the city. Most, if not all, can be visited with a tour group if you're not interested in driving there. All are spectacular. And there's something for everyone.
History buffs? We've got you covered.
Beach lovers? You bet.
Shoppers? Of course!
Foodies and wine aficionados? Say no more.
Culture vultures? We got you, babe.
For such a small country, I'm always amazed at just how much beauty, history and culture is packed into this small peninsula poking into the Mediterranean. And fortunately, lots of it is within a metaphorical stone's throw from Athens.

'Til next time,
Barbara
