We've already established that I am a person who loves Greek food but does not like to spend a lot of time cooking.
I have nothing but the highest level of awe and respect for those folks, like my grandmothers, who could spend two calendar days preparing a meal, but I simply did not get those genes. Or that temperment.
So I'd like to open up the floor to you, dear readers - what's your go-to quick Greek or Greekish dinner meal?
The winner will get their recipe featured in their very own Eat and Drink post, as well as in our Facebook group!
The rules:
It must be a proper meal, not a sandwich or snack (a salad that doubles as a meal is okay)
It must be ready to be served in around 30 minutes (40 max)
It must be written out like a recipe with measurements and how many servings
It needs to be Greek or Greekish - done in either a traditional or non-traditional way - for example, a Mediterranean chicken bowl or Greek nachos.
It can't be a Mediterranean chicken bowl or Greek nachos.
If you can take a nice, clear photo or two of your finished meal and send me a .jpg, that would be ideal, but it's not necessary.
If you want your full name in the finished article (if your recipe is chosen), please give written permission in the email. If you prefer only your first name and last initial, please specify that in the email, too. If you do not specify a preference, I will use only your first name and last initial.
Send in your recipes to thegreekishlife@gmail.com and put "Recipe Contest" in the subject line. The contest will close on August 15th. The winner will be contacted by email and announced in a future post. I may also follow up by email with the winner if I have any questions.
So get cooking! I can't wait to see what you come up with!
