Welcome to the festive season!
But people - how is it December?
I feel like I was just hoarding limited-edition autumn-flavored foodstuffs before they disappeared off the shelves for another whole year. I am like a pioneer woman of old, but instead of putting up turnips and beets in the root cellar for the long winter ahead, I gather Maple Cheerios and Pumpkin Spice Kit-Kats.
And now I have a pile of Christmas wrapping to do, somehow.
We have a new, cold weather comfort food recipe for you - a version of the Peloponnesian classic, Kokoras Kokkinistos, or reddened rooster with egg noodles. It is NOT the authentic recipe, so please don't send me emails. It's my lazy cook's version, and it takes literally hours shorter to prepare than the original.
Also it doesn't use rooster - just regular chicken. But it's still delicious, and a great meal idea for a winter's night.
In case you missed any of them, here are some of the latest offerings...
